The application is for up to 14 wind turbines on a site known as “Pant-y-Wal”, producing 42 megawatts of electricity. It would supply clean energy to the equivalent of at least 25,000 homes – almost half the number of homes in the Bridgend county borough.

The proposal is sited on rough upland grazing land between the Ogmore Vale and Cwm Clydach Forestry areas, within Strategic Search Area F defined by the Welsh Assembly Government.

We believe that in addition to contributing to clean energy targets, our proposal will deliver tangible benefits to local people. We have outlined several community benefit options in a document accompanying the planning application and will consult with the public on them. They include the possibility of sponsoring a full-time police officer / warden in forestry areas – to combat crime such as vehicle theft and abandonment, fly tipping and other anti-social activities. A community trust fund involving local people is also proposed for consideration, so that at up to £60,000 a year can be used to promote environmental and social sustainability in the local area.
